Job Description

Human Resources & Risk Management Manager - Bilingual (Spanish/English)

Location: Woodland Hills, CA (On-site, 5 days/week)

Schedule: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with flexibility for evenings/weekends as needed

A top-performing, family-owned hospitality group in Los Angeles, known for its exceptional dining experiences, is seeking a Human Resources & Risk Management Manager to join their leadership team. With over 200 employees and continued growth, this is a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience and protecting the integrity of operations.

The ideal candidate is experienced, organized, and hands-on, with strong working knowledge of California labor law, payroll practices, and people-first leadership. A background in restaurant or hospitality environments is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal employment regulations, OSHA standards, wage/hour laws, and workplace safety practices.
  • Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, performance documentation, leave tracking, and records management.
  • Manage payroll accuracy and benefit administration, including coordination of health benefits, tip distribution, and employee communications.
  • Lead employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and business-focused judgment.
  • Partner closely with ownership and operations leadership to maintain a cohesive and respectful workplace culture.
  • Provide HR support to managers and department heads; guide them on compliance and documentation standards.
  • Develop and implement internal processes to support growth, risk reduction, and organizational excellence.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in HR or people operations, ideally in hospitality or restaurant environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of California labor laws , risk mitigation, payroll systems, and benefits administration.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish .
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll platforms (Paychex preferred).
  • High standards, strong work ethic, and ability to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
  • Self-starter mindset, with a respectful and collaborative approach to leadership.
