RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Maintenance Director at our steel processing facility, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing maintenance operations to ensure maximum efficiency and safety. Lead our dedicated maintenance team and drive continuous improvement in our state-of-the-art facility, contributing to the success and sustainability of our operations. The Maintenance Director Leads and directs all aspects of the facility maintenance department. 

Principal Job Responsibilities:

• Key member of plant leadership.
• Oversee and manage all maintenance operations within the steel plant to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.
• Develop and implement maintenance policies, procedures, and schedules to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
• Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, and other staff, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with production departments to align maintenance activities with operational goals and priorities.
• Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, making cost-effective decisions to maximize resource utilization.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and promote a safe working environment.
• Analyze maintenance data and performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Oversee the procurement and management of maintenance materials, spare parts, and tools inventory.
• Implement and manage predictive and preventive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned breakdowns.
• Lead initiatives for the modernization and upgrade of plant equipment and systems to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans for equipment failures and other plant incidents.
• Report regularly to senior management on maintenance activities, performance, and strategic initiatives.
• Stay updated with the latest industry advancements and technologies to keep the plant's maintenance practices at the forefront.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

• 40% - Oversees maintenance operations: Manages the maintenance department, including the work crews, assigning responsibility and supervising staff.
• 20% - Develops maintenance plans: Creates maintenance policies and procedures including how to meet or exceed OSHA and other agency requirements.
• 10% - Ensures compliance: Ensures that all maintenance work complies with applicable safety, health and environmental regulations.
• 10% - Coordinates Inspections: Coordinates inspections and audits as necessary.
• 10% - Maintains Records: Maintains records of repairs, preventative maintenance, warranties and inspections.
• 10% - Creates budgets: Develops budgets, capital and inventory.
