Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a growing company. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish and English, possess strong organizational skills, and have prior experience processing payroll in a fast-paced environment. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws
• Maintain accurate employee records including new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes
• Enter and verify timesheet data, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies
• Handle payroll-related inquiries and provide support to employees in both English and Spanish
• Assist with payroll tax filings and reporting
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information
• Collaborate with HR and accounting teams as needed
• Work occasional Saturdays to meet processing deadlines or resolve urgent payroll issues

Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of payroll experience required
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (required)
• Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, or similar)
• Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
• Willingness to work occasional Saturdays as needed
