Central Regional Hospital ***Per G.S. 126-5(c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.*** This is a repost. Previous applicants are currently under review and do not need to reapply. We are recruiting for a Nurse Consultant I at Central Regional Hospital in our Department of Staff Development. The primary purpose of this position is to provide varied, hands-on departmental support activities by way of instruction, facilitation, and consultation in a manner that enhances the department's image, productivity, efficiency, and overall effectiveness. Job duties include but are not limited to: Serving as program instructor for: North Carolina State Approved Nurse Aide I (NAI) Training Program, which includes classroom, practical skills lab, and clinical instruction. New Nurse Orientation Program Psychosocial Behaviors Program CPR training NVCI training Other courses as directed and/or appropriate when needed. Monitor, evaluate, and coach as needed and is responsible for the documentation, recording and reporting of training/learning outcomes in all areas of instruction. The position is also responsible for the collaborative orientation and facilitation of the Student Nurse Clinical Program at CRH consisting of 8 Nursing Programs in the local area (both community and university) that rotate through Central Regional Hospital. Additional responsibilities may include assisting to maintain training records and student rosters, assisting with training requests and the training calendar, conducting annual department equipment inventory, reviewing, and revising teaching curricula, auditing, serving as liaison between Staff Development and assigned PCUs, developing new training curriculum for just in time or requested trainings and serving on various hospital committees as needed and/or requested. Normal work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm; however, flexibility in work schedule is required to meet hospital needs. These are full-time positions and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. Must have or be able to achieve credentials as a CPR Instructor following hire. Must be a Registered Nurse licensed to practice in North Carolina. Must have one of the following: (1) completion of a course in teaching adults (2) experience in teaching adults (3) experience in supervising nurse aides Management Prefers: Working Knowledge of LMS, MS Word Office Suite, Adult Learning Theory. Two (2) years (4,000) hours of experience as a Registered Nurse in the United States. One (1) year (2,000) hours of Registered Nurse experience in the provision of long-term care facility services in the United States as demonstrated by: (1) working in a long-term care facility licensed as a skilled nursing facility or a skilled nursing facility which is a distinct part of a hospital, or (2) supervising or teaching students in a long-term care facility licensed as a skilled nursing facility or a skilled nursing facility which is a distinct part of a hospital.
